Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 5, 2026

lazycode.dev, operated by LazyCode L.L.C. (“lazycode”, “we”, “us”) is a software development team for hire. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By visiting our website, contacting us, or engaging us for work, you agree to the practices described below.

What this policy covers

This policy applies to personal information we collect through:

  • Our website at lazycode.dev
  • Sales and business development conversations (email, calls, proposals)
  • Client engagements and ongoing project work

It does not cover the websites, products, or services of our clients, even when we build or maintain them. When we process data on behalf of a client (for example, working inside their codebase, database, or cloud account), we act as a data processor, and that relationship is governed by our agreement with the client (typically an MSA or Data Processing Addendum), not this policy.

Information we collect

From website visitors:

  • IP address, device type, browser, and pages viewed
  • Information you submit through contact or inquiry forms (name, email, company, message)
  • Cookies and similar analytics technology

From prospects and clients during sales and project work:

  • Name, email, phone, company, role, and other business contact details
  • Information shared in proposals, contracts, and communications
  • Billing and payment details for invoicing
  • Any other information you choose to share with us in the course of working together

Client systems and end-user data: When we build or maintain software for you, we may have access to your systems, codebases, credentials, and the data of your end users. We handle that data under the terms of our engagement with you, not under this policy.

How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to inquiries and proposals
  • Negotiate, sign, and perform our contracts with clients
  • Invoice clients and process payments
  • Communicate about projects, schedules, and deliverables
  • Operate, secure, and improve our website
  • Send occasional updates about our work (you can opt out anytime)
  • Comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations

How we share information

We share information only with:

  • Service providers who help us run the business — for example, email and document hosting, accounting and invoicing tools, analytics, and communication platforms.
  • Subcontractors we bring onto a project, when authorized under our agreement with you.
  • Authorities or other parties when required by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights or safety.
  • A successor entity if lazycode is acquired, merged, or reorganized. We will give clients reasonable notice if this happens.

We do not sell personal information.

Cookies and analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar tools to understand how visitors find and use the site. You can disable cookies through your browser settings, though parts of the site may not work as well.

Data security and retention

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold, including access controls, encryption in transit, and limiting who on our team can see what. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We keep personal information for as long as we need it to provide services, maintain business records, comply with legal and tax obligations, and resolve disputes. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

California residents

If you are a California resident, you have the right under the CCPA/CPRA to:

  • Know what personal information we collect about you and how we use it
  • Request a copy of that information
  • Ask us to correct or delete it
  • Opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (we do not sell or share for cross-context behavioral advertising)
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights

To make a request, email us at the address below. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post an updated version on this page with a new effective date and, where appropriate, notify clients directly.
